Airports in Central America with a new face

Several expansions and upgrades will give a new face to several airports in Central America.

To this end, work is already underway with a private company on a project that will transform the terminal into a modern shopping center, where air freight between El Salvador and other countries in the region can also be moved faster.

It should be noted that the concession for the Romero cargo terminal was also recently awarded to the Honduran company Alutech, part of the Emco-Munich consortium, which manages the Munich Airport in Germany and the Palmerola Airport in Honduras, which will soon be inaugurated on the same month.

Palmerola, Honduras

The new Palmerola International Airport will be inaugurated on October 15 in Comayagua, Honduras, more than an hour's drive from Tegucigalpa.

For which he already has some confirmations from the airlines that will operate at the new terminal, such as the case of the low-cost American Spirit and the Mexican national airline Aeroméxico.

Pacific Airport

In September last year, the international consortium Peyco-Alben 4000 delivered the technical, environmental, social and local report for the construction of the Pacific Airport, the first stone of which will be laid next year, in the eastern part of El Salvador.

The feasibility study was also 70% completed, in which a number of important issues were defined, such as: the demand for airlines and passengers; air traffic projections; the types of aircraft to be received and alternative locations, among other things to consider.

"Pacific Airport is designed and designed to be a benchmark airport infrastructure in Central America, revitalizing the economy of eastern El Salvador," said Peyco-Alben 4000 Consortium Representative Alberto Gómez Serranillo.
