Recovering airflow for Honduran airlines has been one of the biggest impact benefits since Palmerola International Airport began operations late last year.

This will make it possible to reach the expected passenger flow for recovery in two years in a shorter time, generating the possibility of an annual increase in passengers.

Michael Wehmeyer, president of the Honduran Airlines Association (AHLA), assured that in the first months of Palmerola's business, "improved passenger connectivity" was highlighted and operational safety in the central area was restored.

"Having a modern terminal is already good, there is a better flow of passengers than before and now we have an acceleration of the recovery that was lost in the pandemic. We expected the recovery to take place in 2024, but we expect it to be sooner, ”said Wehmeyer, following the successful launch of Palmerola's operations.

The AHLA president said Palmerola allows airlines more comfortable, unrestricted passenger capacity than in the past and allows more airlines to use larger aircraft or those they used before the pandemic.

He also pointed out that the capacity of Palmerola International Airport also allows it to attract more airlines to operate in the country, as it has enormous potential and has been highlighted by the arrival of two new international airlines in the Central area.
